CHESTNUT GREEN BEANS 
1 lb. can green beans
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. instant dry onion
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Drain beans and reserve liquid. In pan, blend sugar, cornstarch. Add soy sauce, bean, liquid and onions. Heat over medium heat stirring until thick and clear. Add beans, vinegar, chestnuts, salt and pepper. Cover, reduce to low. Simmer about 10 minutes.
