BLACK WALNUT POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
2/3 c. self-rising flour
1 c. Crisco
1 stick butter
1 c. milk
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. black walnut flavoring
1 c. chopped black walnuts

Cream sugar, Crisco, butter and eggs, one at a time. Mix flour and milk in. Add flavoring and walnuts. Bake in large tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

GLAZE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 stick butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. white Karo syrup

Cook slow for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup black walnuts. Glaze cool cake.
