KEY LIME PIE 
1 pie crust (9 inch)
3 egg yolks
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup lime juice, from concentrate
green food coloring, optional
8 ounces Cool Whip

Preheat oven to 325 F. In large mixer bowl, beat egg yolks with sweetened condensed milk, lime juice and food coloring if desired. Pour into prepared pastry shell; bake 30 minutes. Cool. Chill. Top with Cool Whip. Garnish as desired. Refrigerate leftovers.

Great recipe but please no food coloring, it spoils the authenticity. The Conch's would chase you out of key West with a "green" pie!!!!!!!!!

That's for sure.. I'm certain a green Key Lime pie is a class one felony in the Keys. It should be a pale yellow color, nothing artifical
