SUGAR DROP COOKIES 
1 stick soft butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
2 c. sifted all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. Beat in egg. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk to sugar mixture, blend thoroughly. Add vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. For a sugary top, lightly flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass which has been buttered and dipped in sugar. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet while hot. Yield: 4 dozen.
