POVERTY PUDDING 
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1 qt. whole milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. brown sugar

Mix rice with 3 cups of milk. Add salt and cinnamon to the sugar, and blend into the rice and milk. Pour into a well-buttered baking dish and bake at 300 degrees. Stir occasionally with a fork. As rice cooks, add the remaining milk to keep pudding moist. Rice pudding is at its best with long slow cooking.
