BASIC CAKE MIX 
8 c. flour
1/4 c. baking powder
2 c. shortening
5 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt

Mix ingredients together. Make 5 equal portions of 3 1/3 cup each. Will store 6 weeks or will freeze for 6 months.

WHITE CAKE:

3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Add to 3 1/3 cup mix.

YELLOW CAKE:

3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, beaten

Add to 3 1/3 cup mix.

CHOCOLATE CAKE:

1 c. milk
1/3 c. cocoa
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Add to 3 1/3 cup mix.

This is a great recipe. Used it and it made delicious cakes! The only thing is if you add 3 1/3 cups up 5 times you get 16 2/3 cups of mix and the recipe only makes 15 1/4 cups of mix. So, the measurements are off for 5 equal portions just a tad, but otherwise a great recipe.
