DANISH APPLE BARS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg yolk
Less than 2/3 c. milk
1 c. Corn Flakes, crushed
5 to 8 tart apples, sliced
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
1 egg white

Combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening, as if for a pie crust. Beat egg yolk. Add to it enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid. Mix well, then stir into flour mixture. Knead until dough sticks together. On floured surface, roll half the dough to 17 x 12 inch rectangle. Fit in and up sides of a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch cookie sheet. Sprinkle Corn Flakes on bottom of crust. Top with sliced apples. Sprinkle with combined sugar and cinnamon. Cover with other half of dough. Seal edges. Cut slits in top. Slightly beat egg white, then brush on top crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

GLAZE:

1 c. powdered sugar
1 to 2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Spread on top of crust while still hot from oven.
