DANISH APPLE DESSERT | |
2 boxes Zwieback, coarsely crushed 1/4 lb. butter 2 lg. jars applesauce 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 pt. heavy cream Melt butter in frying pan. Roll Zwieback on wax paper until coarsely crushed. Pour crumbs into melted butter, add sugar. Stir until well blended. In a crystal bowl place 3/4 cup crumbs on bottom. Add 3/4 inch of applesauce, layer additional crumbs and applesauce and continue ending with crumbs on top. Cool 1 hour. Whip cream and spread over top layer. |
