HUNGARIAN GOULASH | |
2 lbs. stew meat 2 chopped onions 1 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. herbs (thyme and oregano) 2 c. water 2 tbsp. shortening 2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. paprika 1/2 c. tomato sauce Brown meat in shortening. Add onion and cook until golden brown. Cover tightly and simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Add balance of seasonings before covering. Serve over noodles. Sprinkle with caraway seed. |
