SCANDINAVIAN JELLY DROPS 
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg, separated
1 c. flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. chopped nuts
Currant jelly

Cream shortening and sugar until creamy adding sugar gradually. Beat in unbeaten egg yolk. Mix and sift flour. Add to above mixture. Roll a teaspoon of dough into small balls. Dip in beaten egg white, then into chopped nuts. Place on a greased baking sheet, pressing balls in center with finger to flatten. Bake at 300 degrees for 25 minutes or until light brown. After cooling place drop of currant jelly in center of each cookie. Very pretty cookies! Makes 3 dozen.
