4 c. sugar
1 c. white syrup
1 c. water
Dash salt
4 eggs whites, jumbo size best
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. black walnuts

Cook sugar syrup, water, and salt to 260 degrees. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Add cooked mixture and vanilla a little at a time, beating all the time. Add nuts. Beat until it can be dipped by teaspoonful on waxed paper.
