CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS 
1 stewing or Amish chicken
Onion, carrots, celery
Peppercorn
Chicken bouillon cube

Combine above ingredients and simmer 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours until chicken is cooked.

DUMPLINGS:

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. olive oil or salad oil

Sift flour, salt and baking powder; add milk and oil to make a soft dough. Drop dumpling dough from spoon onto boiling chicken. Cover tightly and steam WITHOUT LIFTING cover 12 to 15 minutes. DO NOT recover if top is removed from kettle.
