FUDGE CAKE | |
1 3/4 c. sifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 c. sugar 1/4 c. butter, softened 1 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 4 sqs. unsweetened chocolate, melted 1 c. chopped nuts Sift together into a bowl the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add sugar, butter, milk, and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and chocolate; beat 2 more minutes. Stir in nuts. Pour into 2 greased and floured 8 or 9 inch layer pans or a 13 x 9 inch oblong pan. Batter will be thin. Bake in 350 degree oven 35 to 40 minutes for layers, 40 to 45 minutes for oblong. Bake until tester comes out clean. Cool. Ice with fudge frosting. |
