FAVORITE DATE NUT CAKE 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. pitted dates
1 c. chopped walnuts (or your favorite nut)
1 c. vigorously boiling water

Mix dates and nuts. Pour boiling water over date-nut mixture. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon baking soda over mixture and let cool.

Mix in bowl: 2 tbsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. sugar 1 c. (generously full) mayonnaise 2 c. flour, unsifted 1 tsp. baking powder

Combine the 2 mixtures. Pour into a Bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. A truly delicious cake for those who don't like an iced cake.
