PANSY MILL'S DATE NUT CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 2 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 1 c. pecans, chopped 1 stick butter 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. hot water 2 c. flour 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Add chopped dates and soda to hot water. Add flour and date mixture. Mix well. Add nuts. Bake in 3 (9 inch) greased and floured pans at 350 degrees until cake springs back when touched. FILLING: 1 c. evaporated milk 2 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. nuts, chopped 1 stick butter 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped |
