SWEET-SOUR SPARE RIBS | |
3 lbs. spare ribs (country style) 1 sm. can pineapple chunks 1 pepper, cut up 1 tomato, seeded and cut in chunks 1 c. water 5 tbsp. vinegar 5 tbsp. sugar 4 tbsp. soy sauce 2 tbsp. cornstarch Trim fat from meat. Brown in a little oil. Remove to baking dish. Add pineapple, pepper and tomato. Combine water, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and cornstarch. Pour into frying pan and cook until thick. Pour over ingredients in baking dish. Bake covered in 350 degree oven 1 1/2 to 2 hours until spare ribs are tender. Remove cover last half hour, baste occasionally. |
