MARY FRY'S DEVILS FOOD CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. cocoa
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. buttermilk

Mix cocoa, sugar and Crisco. Beat until mixed well. Add eggs and beat. Add remaining ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

ICING:

2 c. sugar
1/4 c. white corn syrup
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 tsp. salt

Boil 1 minute. Beat until cool and thicken.
