Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry and fold into yolks. Drop the drained banana pieces into the batter one at a time. Pick up with a spoon and slice into a large frying pan container in about 1 inch of hot oil. Cook over medium heat, turning almost at once. Cook until brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. 6 servings.

I did it with banana and apple as well and added cinnamon to the batter. I also Added a topping of home-made caramel sauce and vanilla ice-cream. It was delicious but frankly the bananas win :)

I used this recipe as my inspiration, but took all the other reviewers advice into my decisions. I used about 3/4 cup of flour, four eggs and two tablespoons sugar, some nutmeg and cinnamon, then added a bit of milk as needed to achieve a pancake batter consistency. I did have a lot of batter left over, but not a big deal.

I fried the bananas in peanut oil and made a caramel topping with a cup of brown sugar, butter and heavy cream. The completed dish was the fried bananas on top of four lady fingers with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle of homemade caramel.

The entire family was VERY happy :) YUM!

Great results. My 8 yr old so loved them. I added cinnamon to the batter and powdered sugar when served. One thing to keep in mind is to get the oil hot enough so that the bananas have a crispier crust.

I used only 3 eggs, and I had to add more flour. And I also added cinnamon in the flour and fried them all. They were great!!! I served them with vanilla ice cream, but even without ice cream, they were great!! Thanx for the recipe!!

I added 1 tbsp. sugar and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon - could have added more. Then, once they were cooked and drained, we dipped them in maple syrup. Divine!

Next time, I might try dipping them in sweetened coconut before browning.

We had to add (a lot) of vanilla sugar and cinnamon after to give it a sweet taste, but other than that, it was good.
