APPLE PUDDING 
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 scant tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 med. apples, peeled and chopped

SAUCE:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk
Pinch of baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat sugar and butter together until creamy. Add egg and mix well. Sift flour, baking soda, nutmeg and cinnamon together and add to creamed mixture; mix well. Fold in apples. Bake in an ungreased 9 x 9 inch pan at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.

Sauce: Mix all but vanilla in a saucepan and heat until boiling. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Serve hot or cold over the pudding.
