PEROGY CASSEROLE 
1 (12 oz.) pkg. wide egg noodles
1 lg. yellow onion, chopped
1 1/4 c. melted butter
6 c. mashed potato
1 c. shredded American cheese
Paprika, salt and pepper to taste

Prepare noodles according to package directions. Set aside. Saute chopped onion in butter. Combine mashed potatoes with cheese.

In a 9x13 inch glass pan, spread a portion of the butter/onion mixture over the bottom. Spread 3 cups of the potatoes over the butter. Spread half the noodles on top of potatoes. Pour 1/2 cup of the butter/onion mixture over the noodles. Layer remaining potato mixture, then noodles, then remaining butter mixture. Sprinkle top with paprika, salt and pepper. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes covered.
