SAUSAGE STUFFED FRENCH BREAD
2 fat loaves French bread
8 oz. pork sausage
8 oz. ground beef
1 med. onion, diced
1 egg
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1/4 c. fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 tsp. fennel seeds
Salt & fresh ground pepper
2 tbsp. butter
2 cloves garlic, crushed

Cut the ends off the bread and hollow out the loaves. Process the bread in food processor and reserve the crumbs.

Brown the sausage in a skillet; add onion and beef. Cook until beef is lightly browned.

Combine bread crumbs, meat mixture, egg, mustard, parsley, fennel, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Spoon the mixture into the bread shells; attach bread ends with small skewers.

Melt the butter; saute garlic until golden and brush over loaves. Wrap loaves in aluminum foil, leaving foil open slightly at the top.

Bake at 400 degrees until heated through, 15 to 20 minutes. Cut into 36 appetizer portions.
