CHOCOLATE ICE BOX PIE | |
1 baked 9-inch pie crust 3 lg. or 4 sm. eggs 3/4 c. sugar 3 sq. (1 oz.) unsweetened chocolate 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. mint or almond flavoring (optional) Separate eggs. Beat yolks until light and add half the sugar. Beat well. Melt chocolate and add it plus vanilla (mint/almond) to mixture. If mixture thickens, add 1-2 teaspoons hot water. Beat egg whites (using clean mixer blades and bowl) until stiff. Add remaining sugar and beat hard for 5 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Fold into chocolate mixture. Pour into baked crust and chill. |
