MOLASSES COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. Brer Rabbit Molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Melt shortening over low heat. Remove from heat. Let cool. Add sugar and molasses and egg. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Chill. (Better if chilled overnight.)

Form in 1 inch balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
