PULGOGI - KOREAN GRILLED BEEF
1 1/3 lbs. beef
Seasonings for beef
5 tbsp. soy sauce
2 1/2 tbsp. sugar
4 tbsp. minced green onion
2 tbsp. minced garlic
2 tbsp. sesame oil
1/3 tsp. pepper
5 tbsp. pear juice
1/2 onion
1 whole garlic
1 green pepper
2 tbsp. sesame seed powder

1. Select tender cuts of beef such as filet mignon or rib eye. Make thin slices and score each slice.

3. Mix green onion, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, sesame seed powder, sesame oil, pepper and pear juice. Water or rice wine can be used if pear juice is unavailable to make seasoning sauce.

4. Dip each slice of beef in seasoning sauce and mix with finger tips. Set aside for 30 minutes.

5. Cook seasoned beef on hot grill or over grid iron, cooking onion, green pepper and garlic pieces along side.

This is the only correct bulgogi recipe I have seen here. The "b" is pronounced somewhere between a "p" and a "b" so people have it misspelled in American terms but not Korean which is more flexible. You often find signs in Korea with alternate english spellings. :-)

Anyway, the addition of fruit juice is correct.
