FAVORITE LENTIL PATTIES 
2 c. cooked lentils, well drained
2 tbsp. chopped onion
2 c. mashed potatoes
2 tbsp. butter
Scant 1/2 tsp. sage or sweet marjoram
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts (English walnuts or pecans)

Put onion, seasoning and butter into a small pan and let simmer for a few minutes to soften the onion; do not brown. Add to the cooked and drained lentils. Shake together and mix with the mashed potatoes. Add nuts. Form into small round patties and brown lightly in an oiled skillet.
