SAUSAGE AND SWEET POTATOES 
2 lbs. sweet potatoes
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. Crisco
1 tsp. salt
1 lb. smoked sausage

Parboil sweet potatoes 15 minutes. Peel and slice in strips like French fries. Put in greased baking dish. Put sugar, brown sugar, water, Crisco and salt in saucepan and boil 3 minutes. Pour syrup over the sweet potatoes. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, 30 to 40 minutes. Put sausage on top of sweet potatoes. Cook 1/2 hour or until potatoes and sausages are done.
