PICKLED ONIONS | |
1/2 c. salt 6 qt. sm. onions 1 qt. vinegar 1 tbsp. dry mustard 2 c. brown sugar 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1 tbsp. turmeric Soak overnight the small onions in 1/2 cup salt and water to cover. Mix the cornstarch, dry mustard and turmeric with a small amount of water. Add to the vinegar and sugar and bring to a boil. Add onions and bring to a boil. put into jars. To each quart of onions, add a clove of garlic, chopped and hot peppers to taste. |
