FISH PIE | |
2 c. sugar 3/4 c. butter & lard 1 egg 1 tsp. baking powder Flour to stiffen & roll 1 c. milk Vanilla FILLING: 2 c. molasses 1 c. sugar 1 qt. hot water 8 tbsp. flour Juice of 2 lemons & bit of rind Mix sugar, shortening and egg. Alternate milk with flour and baking powder, adding to first ingredients. Roll about 1/2 inch thick and fit in pie tins (save strips for top). Mix filling, pour in crusts. Put strips on top and bake at 375 degrees until cake part is baked. Makes 2 pies. |
