MACARONI AND CHEESE 
1 (7 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni, about 2 c. uncooked
1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/2 c. milk
1 c. finely shredded American or cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. butter (optional)

Prepare elbow macaroni according to package directions; drain. Melt butter in medium saucepan. Stir in flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Blend in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Combine macaroni and sauce mixture; mix well. Stir in cheese. Pour into greased 2 quart casserole. Dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees until hot, 20-25 minutes. If desired, broil until lightly browned before serving. Garnish with tomato slices. Yields 4 servings.
