SHORT RIBS | |
3 lbs. short ribs of beef 1/4 c. flour 2 tbsp. shortening 1 can condensed beef broth 1 lg. jar apricot baby food or 1 c. dried apricots 2 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. vinegar 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. ground cloves 1/4 tsp. ground allspice Dust the ribs with flour, brown in shortening in a large heavy pan. Pour off excess drippings. Combine the remaining ingredients; pour over ribs. Cover. Cook over low heat about 3 1/2 hours, or until the ribs are tender; turn the ribs and baste with the sauce occasionally. |
