CARAMEL BROWNIES 
60 light Kraft Caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 c. chopped nuts (opt.)
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Melt caramels with 1/2 cup evaporated milk over low heat and set aside.

Melt 3/4 cup butter. Mix with 1 package of German chocolate cake mix and 1/3 cup evaporated milk (and 1 cup chopped nuts - optional). Mix by hand. Be sure all ingredients are moist; it will be stiff.

Spread half of dough in a greased 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.

Sprinkle 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips over hot dough, and then pour caramel syrup over chips; then spoon remaining dough over top. Return to oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
