BUNS OR ROLLS | |
2 1/2 c. hot water 2 tsp. salt 1 beaten egg 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. lard (or Crisco) 2 pkgs. yeast dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water 9 c. flour Pour hot water over sugar and lard. When lukewarm, add yeast mixture, salt, egg and 4 cups flour. Beat well with mixture. Knead in rest of the flour slowly. Let raise 1 hour; punch down; let rise. Make buns or rolls; let rise and bake at 375 degrees. TO MAKE CINNAMON BUNS roll out flat and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Roll up and slice and bake. |
