SUPERB GOLDEN CRESCENTS | |
1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. soft shortening 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs 3/4 c. lukewarm milk in which 2 cakes yeast have been dissolved Beat sugar, shortening, salt and eggs until smooth. Stir in the yeast mixture. Add 4 cups flour and mix until smooth and elastic. Let raise in warm place until double in bulk. Roll out in a circle, spread with butter and sprinkle lightly with cinnamon sugar. Then cut into circles like pie shapes and roll up like crescent shapes. Place in greased cookie sheets and place in warm place and let rise slightly. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. The dough may be refrigerated overnight after mixing. |
