This dish is not lau lau. It is a Samoan Dish called palusami. It's a good dish but it's not Hawaiian.

Strange you claim to be Tongan / Hawaiian and Samoan... you put a Tongan and Samoan in the same room get ready for WW3 - common sense the 2 nations were enemies for centuries...

Samoan Palusami is made with Coconut milk.

I used to miss Lau Lau in the Marines and i made my Canteen cup Lau Lau using just spinach and corned beef... Samoans and Tongans DO the same but add coconut milk (I grew up with Samoans) Ufa Kefe

I grew up in Hawaii and this recipe is unfamiliar to me. The lau lau I loved was simply a piece of pork, a piece of beef and some butterfish inside taro leaves with an outer wrap of ti leaves. No coconut milk, no tomatoes, green onion or canned corned beef. It may taste good but it isn't lau-lau.
