CHARLOTTE'S GERMAN BUTTER
COOKIES
 
1 c. butter
3 c. flour
Jelly (I prefer plum)
3 heaping tbsp. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter with the powdered sugar. Gradually add flour. Add vanilla and roll into balls. Place the balls on a cookie sheet and use your thumb to dent the top. Place a dab of jelly in the center thumbprint. Top with a nut. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
