FRIED GREEN TOMATOES 
4 lg. green tomatoes
1 c. cornmeal
Salt
Pepper
1/2 c. cooking oil

Slice tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle cornmeal on platter. Batter tomato slices. Put 1/2 cup oil into frying pan over medium heat. When oil is hot, place tomatoes into oil. Cook until brown. Once brown, remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain.
