ZEBRA BROWNIES 
Filling:

2 (3 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

In a small bowl, beat together the filling ingredients until smooth. Set aside.

Brownies:

1 family-size (21 1/2 oz.) fudge brownie mix
1/3 c. very hot tap water
1/3 c. oil
1 egg

In a large bowl, combine all brownie ingredients. Beat 60 strokes with a spoon. Spread half the batter in a well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Pour filling on top of the batter, spreading to cover. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining batter on top of the filling. Marble by pulling a knife through the batter in wide curves. Turn pan and repeat.

Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool completely and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.

Makes 36 bars.
