1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix 1/3 c. evaporated milk 3/4 c. melted butter 6 oz. chocolate chips 1 c. chopped nuts 16 oz. or 14 oz. pkg. caramels 1/3 c. evaporated milk Mix the cake mix, 1/3 cup milk and melted butter together. Put one half of mixture in a 9"x13" pan. Spread evenly. Bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees. Put chocolate chips and chopped nuts on top of cake. Melt caramels and 1/3 cup milk together. (Can be done in microwave.) When melted blend together until smooth. Spread over chips and nuts. Put the other half of cake mixture over caramel mixture. Does not matter if it is not even. Bake 15 to 20 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Let cool. ICING: (Optional) 1 c. sugar 6 tbsp. evaporated milk 6 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 8 lg. marshmallows 1 c. chocolate chips |
