ORIENTAL STEAK BROIL 
1 (about 1 1/2 lb.) flank steak
3 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. anise seed, crushed
1/8 tsp. pepper

Pierce steak all over with a fork; place in a shallow pan.

Combine lemon juice, soy sauce, garlic, salt, anise and pepper; pour over steak. Cover and chill, turning steak several times 3 to 4 hours to season. Remove steak from marinade, place on rack in broiler pan.

Broil, following range directions, 3 to 4 minutes. Turn, brush with marinade. Broil 3 to 4 minutes, longer for rare, or until done as you like it. Carve diagonally into 1/2 inch thick slices. Serves 6.
