TEXAS CAKE & FROSTING 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter (1 c.)
1 c. water
3 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cinnamon

Sift flour, sugar and salt. Put butter, water and cocoa in saucepan, bring to boil. Pour over flour mixture. In another bowl mix remaining ingredients. Add 2 mixture and mix well. Bake at 350 degrees.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter (1/2 c.)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 c. walnuts or pecans

Mix butter, cocoa and milk in saucepan. Heat over low flame, do not boil. Remove from heat. Add sugar, nuts and vanilla; spread on hot cake.
