PEACH BREAD 
3 c. sliced peaches + 6 tbsp. sugar to equal 2 1/4 c. puree
2 c. flour, plain
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Puree peaches and 6 tablespoons sugar. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon. Set aside. Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar and shortening. Add eggs; mix well. Add peach puree and dry ingredients. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Spoon batter into 2 well greased and floured 9"x5"x3" pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Turn onto a rack to cool completely.
