MOM'S APPLE COBBLER 
1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. apple juice
1 1/2 c. sifted self-rising flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. milk
2 c. finely chopped apples
1 tsp. cinnamon

In a large baking dish, melt butter. Cut shortening into flour, add milk. Stir with fork only until dough leaves side of bowl. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick rectangle. Sprinkle apples with cinnamon evenly. Roll up as jelly roll. Close edges. Cut 1/2 inch slices, lay in dish. Bake until brown.

Heat sugar and juice until sugar melts. Set aside. Pour this over pie when browned and cook 15 minutes more.
