SPECIAL OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. wheat germ
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or toasted sunflower seeds

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla and salt; beat well. Stir together flour, wheat germ and baking powder. Add to sugar mixture along with oats, raisins and nuts or sunflower seeds. Blend together thoroughly.

Add one or more tablespoons water if needed to help keep dough together. Drop by tablespoons on greased cookie sheet, flattening them slightly. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
