1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
5 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in flour and vanilla. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/4 hours.

CARAMEL ICING:

2 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. milk
Butter, size of walnut

Stir all ingredients together and boil until a drop hardens in water. Remove from heat and beat until thick and creamy.
