2 c. corn meal
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. chopped onion
1 c. buttermilk
1 lg. egg, beaten

Combine dry ingredients, stir in onions and buttermilk. Blend in the egg last. Drop by spoonfuls into boiling oil in deep fryer or skillet. Hush puppies will float when done. Drain on paper towel.
