SAND DABS 
1 c. butter
3 c. flour
6 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. finely chopped nuts
Tart jelly
Pecan halves (about 80)
Powdered sugar

Cream butter and sugar. Add flour gradually, then add chopped nuts and vanilla. Pinch off small dabs and roll into balls. Push thumb into balls to make a deep dent. Fill with tart jelly. Cover with 1/2 pecan. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. When cool, roll in powdered sugar.
