CREOLE CUBED STEAK 
Put 3 or 4 tablespoons Puritan oil in 10 or 12 inch skillet.

From grocery store and already prepared. Salt and pepper the steaks lightly, then roll in plain flour. Fry over medium heat, browning on both sides. If you have oil left when browned, pour off excess oil.

Prepare in a bowl: 1 med. chopped onion 2 or 3 ribs celery (chopped)

Sprinkle these vegetables over steak. Turn down heat (low) and put lid on skillet. When the vegetables have steamed (do not let steak burn on bottom), pour 1 (8 ounce) can of tomato sauce over entire pan. Add a little water, about 1/2 can, a sprinkle of salt and pepper and a pinch of sugar. Let cook, covered, until steak feels very tender. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes. Serves 4. (Original)
