GRANDMA'S SUGAR COOKIES | |
1 c. butter 1 c. powdered sugar 2 eggs 1 c. Wesson oil (or a little less) 1 c. reg. sugar 2 tsp. vanilla Cream above ingredients. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar, 4 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons unsifted flour. Refrigerate 3 to 4 hours. Roll in small balls and roll in sugar. Put on ungreased cookie sheet and press flat with cookie press or end of small glass. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes around 100 cookies. Very crisp and tender. Lasts for weeks in a cookie tin. Can sprinkle red or green sugar for Christmas. |
