PECAN PIE SQUARES 
3 c. flour
1/4 c. + 2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. melted butter
3/4 tsp. salt
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. corn syrup
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Beat flour, sugar, butter and salt. Press firmly into a greased jelly roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch). Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Mix eggs, sugar, syrup, butter and vanilla. Stir in pecans. Pour over baked layer and spread evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares. Makes 70 (1/2 inch) squares.
