BARBECUED CHICKEN | |
3 - 3 1/2 lb. chicken 1/2 c. flour 2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. salad oil 1 med. sliced onion 1/2 c. chopped celery 1/4 c. green pepper 1 c. ketchup 1 c. water 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce Early in day dip chicken parts into flour mixed with salt. Fry until golden brown, but not tender. Remove chicken and drain all but 2 tablespoons fat. Add onion, celery, and pepper and fry until tender. Add rest of ingredients, pour over chicken and chill. (May be frozen and baked later.) About 2 hours before serving, bake at 325 degrees for 80 minutes. Check, if not done, bake additional 25 minutes. |
